Wooden Sink Covers made by "The Atelier by the Beck", are durable and when properly cared for can last for years.

Your Sink Cover is not finished.  It is plain wood cut and sanded, no paint, varnish or oils have been used on the wood.

If you wish to season your board, vegetable oil can be used to season the board and keep it from drying out.  It also helps resist water.

NEVER use furniture polish on your Sink Cover. Furniture Polish contains toxic substances that may be harmful if ingested.

Water is wood's worst enemy.  Don't let your Sink Cover sit in water. If it gets wet, dry it off with a dry towel and let it air dry.

If you leave your Sink Cover covering your sink, moisture could build up in the sink area underneath.

Periodically remove the cover and allow it to sit exposed to the air for 24 hours.

Your Sink Cover will get small dents and cuts from use. This is to be expected with normal use.  If your Sink Cover gets rough, you can sand it with 220 grit sandpaper to smooth.

To disinfect your Sink Cover, use vinegar and rinse with water.  If you choose to use bleach, make sure your Sink Cover is rinsed very well before using.
